Ukraine travel advice: Visa and Passport Information

Dear friends,

Whether you are planning a visit to the Ukraine for meeting your Ukrainian lady in person, it is important to do your homework and be completely prepared before your arrival. That way, you will ensure that everything goes smoothly and you won’t have any problems when you travel.

First, anyone coming in will be required to have a passport which is valid for at least one month past the point that they are planning to return home. This is a practical measure in the event that any delays occur in travel plans.

Australian visitors are also required to have a visa. Travelers from the United States, UK, Canada, and other European countries need only have their passport. Regardless of the starting point or home country for any tourists coming in, they all must have a return ticket already purchased before entry into the Ukraine.

For those who need visas, their children under the age of 16 do not have to have a visa because they will be on their parents’ passports. Visitors are approved to stay for up to 90 consecutive days in a half year period.

However, for anyone who plans on staying longer than 90 days, a visa is required and cannot be obtained at the airport or border so planning ahead is essential. Double entry or multiple entry can occur from six to twelve months. On another note, it is important to recognize that Ukraine visas are dated by the day of the month first and then the month, a contrast to how the date is recorded in the United States.
