Horrible Ukrainian & Russian Relationship Advice You Should Never Follow
Several years ago, online dating was thought of as an act of desperation. Fast forward to today’s busy lifestyles and many Western men are logging onto the Net in search of and finding success in Russian and Ukrainian dating.
But with all relationships, there will to pitfalls, bumps in the road, and sometimes no lack of advice from well-intending family and friends. But, in my experience as a dating blogger, that well-intended advice does not work and only adds fuel to the fire.
One of the problems I see most often with Western-Ukrainian couples is poor communication skills. Most intercultural couples have not learned to actively listen or speak in a tone that doesn’t cause the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up.
If you truly want to save your relationship, regardless of how big, small, or unsolvable you think the problems are, it is okay to seek the help of a professional counselor. Here are some bad advice that might be given to you and helpful advice to use.
Bad advice #1. Men almost 40…can’t be too picky.
If 40 is just around the corner and you have your mind set on being married by a certain age, just ended a long-term relationship or marriage, or built the career you doggedly pursued, then now is not the time to lower your standards. Yes, dating norms may have changed over the years, but so has everything. If you have set standards for yourself, don’t settle for less than you deserve.
Suggestion: I am sure you want to show yourself in your best light. So, focus on what you have to offer the relationship like, a compassionate personality or a great sense of humor. Your physical appearance is not always what wins a person’s heart. Truth is, “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”.
Self-confidence can be key and be a real turn-on to getting a date, giving you an edge over your competition. A fearless attitude and swagger goes a long way in the pursuit of love. But, if your appearance is truly holding you back from meeting new people, lose weight, start eating healthy, or pick out a new wardrobe that compliments your body. Don’t forget to let Russian and Ukrainian dating progress naturally and relax about finding the “right one”.
It may not happen as soon as you want, so set realistic expectations and don’t give up on finding love.

Bad advice #2. Never say “I don’t agree” to your Russian wife
Contrary to what you might think, disagreeing is not a bad thing. If done correctly, it can help build your relationship with a Russian or Ukrainian woman instead of the knock it down. Oftentimes, disagreements are thought of as a negative instead of a positive response. So, rather than speak up, you hide your opinions for fear of being banished to the couch for another sleepless night.
Suggestion: Change your outlook about disagreements in your Western-Ukrainian relationship. Rather than seeing them in a negative light, see disagreements as normal, part of any healthy relationship. If done in a loving way, communicating your feelings can build respect, understanding, and intimacy between the two of you.
Pay attention and be genuinely interested in what your wife from Russia or Ukraine is saying to you, because your blank stare or shifting eyes is a clue that you are not really paying attention.
Focus your attention on communicating your feelings, listen to what your woman has to say, and give positive feedback. This way of communicating will go a long way to building a strong relationship overall. And it will probably get you off the couch and back into the loving arms of your Russian lady.

Bad advice #3. Add a couple of kids to the family…this will fix your problems
Even in today’s modern times, some people think that this old idea is a good idea for improving your relationship. But, until you make solid improvements in your communication skills, adding little ones or trying to blend family members should be a definite “NO”.
Suggestion: Do not try to build a family with a Russian woman if your communication is lacking. Since you are approaching 40, 50 or 60, probably you or even your wife from Ukraine or Russia may already have kids from a previous relationship, which surely will bring on a new set of issues to deal with.
Adding to the family when you’re already having problems is only going to exacerbate them, give you less space to breath, or make it harder to exit the relationship, if necessary.
Don’t forget that after you find your Russian / Ukrainian bride, having good communications, and being a supportive partner will help you keep the flames burning. Keep negativity to yourself, dig deep to express your feelings, and actively listen to your foreign wife.
So, try my international dating and relationship advice… put it to use. Then see if you enjoy a deeper and more loving relationship. Trust me… it will be worth the effort and your Russian / Ukrainian wife will adore you.
